unboxing my new acer laptop. model 5740g-6979, (434G50MN) intel i5, ATI 5650 1GB, 500GB harddrive, 4GB RAM… I played half life 2- all episodes- on highest settings and it runs great. The ATI video card is awesome…it is one of the few cards that can handle directx11 already! The windows7 performance meter gives it a 6.7 for the graphics…pretty good for an inexpensive laptop…No wonder this machine is sold out all the time… : if all you’re after is how much computer you can get under the hood for as little money as possible, Acer’s Aspire 5740G is hands down the best laptop deal on the market
